Charleston Gastroenterology Center is the first and the largest independent ambulatory endoscopy center and practice in Charleston, dedicated to gastrointestinal diagnosis and treatment.
With two locations, in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant, we provide the highest possible level of care to patients from as far away as Beaufort and Georgetown. We strive to offer our patients a spacious, relaxing, and pleasant environment in which to manage their gastrointestinal health.
Charleston Gastroenterology Specialists (CGS) was founded in 1997 when Drs. Brener, Corless and Gourdin of Digestive Disease Associates merged with Drs. Burns and Ravenel of Charleston Gastroenterology Associates. In 2000 Dr. Burns retired and Dr. Hadzijahic joined CGS. After the completion of Charleston Endoscopy Center (CEC) and the offices and consultation suites of CGS, under one roof in 2003, Charleston Gastroenterology Center (CGC) was formed. Since that time Drs. Royall, Noble and Smith have joined CGS to form the most prominent and respected medical practice in the Lowcountry of South Carolina specializing in gastrointestinal diagnosis and treatment. There are now eight (8) partners who comprise Charleston Gastroenterology Center. The combined experience of our partners exceeds one hundred years of practice.
